Learn how to manage meetings on complex topics, avoiding and defusing conflicts, while maintaining control over the meeting.

Thematic plan

Box 1. Meeting basics

Differences between a meeting and a personal meeting. Goals and objectives of the meeting. Signs of an effective meeting. Rules for organizing and conducting a meeting. Case solution. Discussion of the results.

Block 2. Meeting conflict: main causes and stage diagnostics.

Attention curve and emotion curve at a meeting. Points threatened by conflicts at the meeting. Pros and cons of conflicts at the meeting, the concept of "constructive conflict". Difficult and painful topics: ways of presenting for conflict prevention. Analysis of video clips, group task.

Block 3. Communication disorders as a conflict-generating factor in a meeting

How to present painful topics in a meeting. Wording errors in communication with participants. Attenuation and distortion, work with rumors and conjectures as a prevention of conflict escalation. Roles and responsibilities in communicating information at a meeting. Effects of groupthink in a meeting. Assignment, discussion of results, work in pairs.

Block 4. Selling decisions at the meeting and working with acceptance

Mechanism for accepting information and point of view. Reasons for resistance and objections to information. A curve of change to understand the causes and depth of resistance. Answers to typical remarks and resistance of participants. Decision transfer technique. Rigidity and speed of “buying” a decision at a meeting. Individual task. Discussion. Analysis of situations.
